Web design for service providers
For consulting, coaching, agencies, photography, IT services, cleaning and many other self-employed professionals: a website that shows expertise and makes enquiries easy.
With services, nobody buys a product – they buy trust in a person or a team. Your website therefore has to answer two questions: Can this person solve my problem? And do I want to work with them?
Services can’t be put in a shop window. Prospects have to get an idea of how you work before they pick up the phone – and they compare several providers who look similar at first glance.
Many websites describe services from the provider’s point of view rather than the customer’s. Anyone looking for a solution to a specific problem doesn’t recognise themselves and clicks on.
Whether sole trader or small office: these building blocks turn an online business card into a website that brings in enquiries.
Each service described from the customer’s perspective: for whom, which problem, which result, how it works.
Who is behind it? Background, approach and way of working – with real photos instead of stock images.
Case studies, memberships and – where available – genuine customer testimonials. Only verifiable statements, no bought reviews.
Contact form, call-back request or integration of your existing online appointment calendar.
Pages that match specific searches – locally or nationally, depending on how you work.
For small teams and offices: about us, team, location, careers and contact – clearly structured.
A good service provider website takes over part of the initial consultation: prospects know what you offer, how you work and roughly what it costs – and get in touch with a specific question.
Fewer unsuitable enquiries, more conversations with people who really fit you.
1. Initial consultation: free and without obligation – by phone, video, email or WhatsApp. We clarify what your website should achieve, what content already exists and which package fits.
2. Written quote: with a fixed price and a clearly described scope. You can review it conveniently online and sign it digitally.
3. Build: design, copy, technology and search engine fundamentals. We incorporate your feedback in rounds of revisions (PREMIUM: up to two, PROFESSIONAL: three).
4. Launch: on your domain, with SSL encryption and technically integrated legal notice and privacy pages.
5. Afterwards: hosting & support at a fixed monthly price if you wish – or you run the website with your own provider.
For service providers, the copy matters most. In the initial consultation we go through your services together and think about which questions your customers typically ask – this produces the structure of the website.
Dansk Cottage Digital is run by Arndt and Jan Floto from Hamburg. We conceived, wrote, designed and built the multilingual website of our holiday home Dansk Cottage ourselves – it is our most important reference project. More about us
Freelancers with a clear offer are well served by BASIC (home page and up to five content pages). If you want to show several service areas, case studies and an FAQ section, PREMIUM is the better choice; multilingual websites come with PROFESSIONAL.
With clarity and evidence: understandable service descriptions, real photos of you and your team, comprehensible examples of your work, details of qualifications and a complete legal notice. Testimonials help if they are genuine and published with consent. Exaggerated promises tend to do harm.
If possible, yes – at least as a guide or from-price. Prices filter out unsuitable enquiries and come across as transparent. For very individual services you can instead explain what the price depends on and offer a no-obligation initial consultation. That’s how we do it ourselves: fixed package prices plus an individual quote.
Often a home page, services, about me, contact and the legal and privacy pages are enough. Separate pages per service are worthwhile if you have several clearly distinct offers that customers search for specifically. More pages aren’t automatically better – what matters is that every page answers a question.
Yes. If you already use an online appointment calendar, we integrate it into your website. Alternatively we offer an enquiry form with a preferred date that reaches you by email. What fits depends on how many appointments you schedule and how you work today.
If you receive customers on site or visit customers in a particular area, it’s worthwhile. Under Google’s guidelines, businesses that work exclusively online without in-person customer contact are generally not eligible for a Business Profile. The website is then all the more important.
Briefly describe what you offer and whom you want to reach. We will get back to you personally and prepare a no-obligation quote.
No obligation and free of charge – we will get back to you personally.
