Sauna the right way – the golden rules

Regular sauna bathing is not only good after an eventful day on Ærø, it also strengthens the circulation and the immune system. The German Sauna Association (Deutscher Sauna-Bund) recommends:

• Shower thoroughly and dry off well before entering the sauna
• A sauna session ideally lasts 12–15 minutes
• After sweating, follow with a gentle cool-down, e. g. in the fresh air or under the outdoor shower
• Three sauna rounds with breaks in between are considered ideal
• Don't forget to drink enough

• Up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, around 96 m² of living space
• Private barrel sauna with panoramic window and outdoor shower – at no extra cost
• Wood-burning stove in the living area, underfloor heating, fibre Wi-Fi, wallbox
• One dog included in the total price, a second on request
• 3,300 m² natural plot in Skovby near Søby in the north of Ærø, about 4 km from the harbour
• Arrival and departure on Saturdays; bed linen, towels and final cleaning included
• Guests expected from spring 2027 – the house is still under construction

Questions about the sauna

Does the sauna cost extra?

No. The private barrel sauna is included in the total price and reserved for Dansk Cottage guests – no booking needed.

How many people fit in the sauna?

Up to four people. Right next to the sauna there is an outdoor shower for cooling off.

Are sauna towels provided?

Yes, towels are included.

Is there more for relaxing in the holiday home?

Yes, there is a wood-burning stove in the living area, and the 3,300 m² natural plot invites you to spend time outdoors.
