Coastal fishing in the South Sea
The coasts of Ærø are popular with anglers – especially for sea trout fishing straight from the shore.
All around the island there are numerous good fishing spots for sea trout and other saltwater fish. If you prefer fishing from a boat, the small harbours are starting points for trips out to sea.
To fish in Denmark, adults generally need a so-called “fisketegn” (fishing licence). Closed seasons and minimum sizes also apply to certain fish species. Please find out about the currently valid regulations from the responsible Danish authorities before your trip.
In Denmark you only need this fishing licence – unlike in Germany, no separate fishing exam is required. You can conveniently buy the licence online here:
