Hygge (pronounced roughly “hoo-gah”) is a Danish attitude to life that cannot be translated literally – the closest is “cosiness” in the best sense. It is about a warm, friendly atmosphere, candlelight, good food and time with the people who matter to you – especially in the darker months. That is exactly the feeling we want to create with the stove at Dansk Cottage: a crackling fire, a warm blanket and peace and quiet after a day on Ærø.
