This website is hosted by an external hosting provider (Hostinger). When the site is accessed, the server automatically collects so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These include: IP address, date and time of the request, browser type and version, operating system used and the previously visited page (referrer URL). This data is processed exclusively for the technical provision and security of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure and functional operation) and is not combined with other data sources.
We embed the font used (Montserrat) locally on our own server. There is no connection to servers of Google or other third parties, and no data is transmitted to third parties.
This website stores your selected language (German/Danish/English) in your browser's local storage (LocalStorage) so that your choice is retained on a return visit. No personal data is collected, no cookies are set and no data is transmitted to us or third parties — the information remains exclusively on your device.
If you contact us by email, your details (email address, where applicable name and message) are stored and processed exclusively to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). They are not passed on to third parties.
On our “Booking request” page you can use a form to tell us your preferred dates without obligation. The following details are processed: name, email address, optionally telephone number, number of guests, desired arrival and departure period and an optional message.
The data is transmitted to us by email exclusively to process your enquiry (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, initiation of a contract). The transmission takes place directly from our own server to our email address – no external form or analytics provider is integrated. The data is not passed on to third parties. It is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to process your enquiry.
This website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics (GA4) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies that enable an analysis of how our website is used (e. g. pages viewed, time spent, approximate origin of visitors). The information generated in this way is generally transmitted to a Google server, including in the USA, and processed there.
Google Analytics is activated on this website only after you have expressly given your consent via the cookie consent banner (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TTDSG). Without your consent, no data is collected or transmitted to Google. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by changing your selection via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of this page or by deleting the cookies stored in your browser.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send you information about the opening of Dansk Cottage, available dates, the construction diary and Ærø. Registration takes place using the double opt-in procedure: after signing up you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Only after your confirmation do we add your address to the mailing list. Unconfirmed sign-ups expire after 48 hours. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
To prove your consent, we store the time of registration and confirmation, a shortened IP address (the last segment is removed) and the version of the consent text. The data is stored on the server of our hosting provider Hostinger (see section 2); the confirmation email is sent via its mail server. We send the newsletter ourselves from an email programme; no additional mailing service provider is used. Your data is deleted as soon as you unsubscribe or we discontinue the newsletter.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link in every email or by sending a message to Floto@danskcottage.dk.
You have the right at any time to obtain information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification, restriction or erasure of this data. For this and for further questions on data protection, you can contact us at any time at the email address given above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
