Dansk Cottage is our own holiday home on the Danish island of Ærø and our most comprehensive reference project. The house is still under construction – the website is already running with booking enquiries, a price calendar and a guest area. What we suggest for you, we have built and used there ourselves.
Typical challenges for hosts
Booking portals bring reach, but charge commission and decide how your property is presented. Guests who already know you or search for you specifically should be able to enquire directly with you.
Add to that guests from several countries with their own language and search habits, the same questions about travel, pets and amenities over and over again – and availability that has to be up to date everywhere.

Reference project Dansk Cottage
Dansk Cottage is our own holiday home on the Danish island of Ærø – and our most important reference project. For different audiences we have built separate country and language versions with booking enquiries, a price calendar, photo gallery, site search, newsletter and video consultation. Concept, copy, design and technology are all our own work; many of these building blocks carry over to websites in other industries.

How we work together
1. Initial consultation: free and without obligation – by phone, video, email or WhatsApp. We clarify what your website should achieve, what content already exists and which package fits.
2. Written quote: with a fixed price and a clearly described scope. You can review it conveniently online and sign it digitally.
3. Build: design, copy, technology and search engine fundamentals. We incorporate your feedback in rounds of revisions (PREMIUM: up to two, PROFESSIONAL: three).
4. Launch: on your domain, with SSL encryption and technically integrated legal notice and privacy pages.
5. Afterwards: hosting & support at a fixed monthly price if you wish – or you run the website with your own provider.
For holiday homes we also talk about your marketing in the initial consultation: which portals do you use, where do your guests come from, how do you maintain availability today? This shows which languages and features make sense.

Portals bring reach; your own website complements them: returning guests and guests who search for your property specifically can enquire directly, and you decide yourself how the house and region are presented. Many hosts use both.

That depends on the booking or channel management system you use. Many systems offer calendar exports or integrations that we can build into your website. At Dansk Cottage, availability is maintained in one central place that feeds the website and the price calendar.

If your guests come from several countries, yes. It’s important not just to translate but to adapt content: guests from the Netherlands travel differently from guests from Switzerland and search with different terms. That is why Dansk Cottage has dedicated travel pages for each market.

With visualisations that are clearly labelled as such, and a construction progress section or building diary. That’s what we did at Dansk Cottage: the website is online, enquiries are possible, and prospective guests can follow how the house is being built.

BASIC costs €1,490, PREMIUM €2,490 and PROFESSIONAL €3,990, each excl. VAT at a fixed price. Hosting & support is optional and costs €49, €79 or €119 excl. VAT per month. We agree together in the quote which languages and features your property needs.
